Empty home – NaPoWrMo 2018 – Day 2

Empty home.

The old yellow journal,
The clothes that don’t fit,
The books that are already read,
Are all not easy to let go.
But today,
I widen the space in my old closet,
Shifting the piles of old clothes and books aside.
Today I sat in silence all day,
Not being scared of being left or forgotten,
Today a boy found an empty home,
That helped him rise,
And today I am the empty home,
Not because of gone people or things,
But because of the spaces I have to fill.
Today I rose,
Same but new,
For in his grace,
I will every time.
